Intro
I find my passion in delivering software that is accessible, inclusive, and made for humans with real challenges. These interests also shape my approach to managing a team, where I make an effort to understand each team member's unique needs and strengths and encourage them to contribute effectively to our collective goals. I highly value team culture and make a conscious effort to foster interactions, personal development, and a supportive environment where feedback is encouraged. My role never begins and ends at design;I try to get involved in other projects within the company whenever I can, so I can contribute to causes that matter to me and make a difference.

Get Bridge / Director of UX and Design
Hybrid / December 2021- August 2022
Bridge is an employee learning and development platform with the belief that “People Matter Most.” In my role as director, I coached the designers, managed the team, and led UX and design as a discipline. As a coach I clarified direction, provided context, removed roadblocks, and offered support to each of the designers who reported to me. I set team goals, balanced responsibilities while playing to strengths of each team member, encouraged collaboration among the team, and supported individual career growth. I was responsible for measuring the success of my team and determining how we worked and what processes we used. I lead hiring and staffing for the team. Every quarter I was heavily involved in planning, prioritizing, and resourcing our next 3 months of work. As we acquired several additional businesses I led design strategy and worked with the product team on our company vision in order to align the R&D department on a unified mission.
Get Bridge / Sr. Product Designer
Hybrid / August 2018 - December 2021
As a senior designer I worked alongside several teams of engineers and product managers to make improvements to many parts of the product. Starting at the beginning of projects I would collaborate with engineers to find the right solutions and get their feedback and expertise throughout the design process. I also validated my work through various user testing methods. Additionally, I owned the accessibility and usability initiatives, which included auditing our website, running regular usability studies, updating standards, and providing task lists to engineers. I regularly presented in all hands meetings on the state of our design system and usability studies.
Bio-Rad / UX Design Contractor
Remote / August 2017 - August 2018
Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. develops, manufactures, and markets a broad range of products for the life science research and clinical diagnostics markets. My responsibilities on the team included taking workflows, conceptual ideas and wireframes and turning them into compelling visual mockups and prototypes. My work was then validated through user testing and then handed over to a team of engineers.
ELLUCIAN / Sr. UX Designer
Salt Lake City, UT and Remote / February 2015 - August 2017
Ellucian creates solutions for students & faculty in higher education. As a Senior UX Designer I was often a part of the UX process from beginning to end. Tasks included user research, wireframing, prototyping, and designing high res mockups. In my time at Ellucian I learned how to perform contextual inquiries, design journey maps, analyze research data, build mental models, and much more. I worked on several products that used microsoft dynamics as a framework as well as web portals and native apps. I was also part of an effort to rethink and redesign our company wide design patterns and standards.
PCCC / Sr. Designer and Manager
Remote / May 2014 - February 2015
PCCC (Progressive Change Campaign Committee) is a very small organization so I had many responsibilities as the sole Senior Designer. In addition to UI design work, I was also the manager to a full-time designer and a design fellow. This was a new role for me but I embraced it fully and learned a lot in my experience. I also worked on wireframes & UI designs for their suite of campaign tools. I helped decide the functionality for several of these complex web applications, including a website builder, an application that creates customizable polls, and a newsletter creator. To ensure consistency in these and future applications I created a pattern library of assets and design styles which I shared with other designers and developers. I also oversaw the branding and style guide of the organization, as well as communication between the design team and the rest of the organization. In order to improve design processes on the production end, I created a repository of design assets, templates, wireframes and more to be used among the design team. I also completely transformed the way in which work is handed off to the design team, so that there is much less back-and-forth, confusion, and miscommunication.
Clearlink / Sr. Designer
SLC / September 2013 - May 2014
At CLEARLINK I primarily designed responsive sales websites for national satellite and security companies including Dish, ADT, Vivint, and more. One of my responsibilities was to redesign several out-dated websites to function responsively. I also work on logos, t-shirts, posters, and other types of company branding projects.
Alliance Health Networks / Interaction Designer
SLC / January 2012 - August 2013
As an interaction designer at Alliance Health Networks I worked mainly on the social network diabeticconnect.com. My process included creating user stories, wireframes, prototypes, user testing, defining specifications, delivery to development, and reviewing the resulting site metrics. During my time at AHN, our team was responsible for a complete website redesign, which included switching over to a responsive layout using the bootstrap framework. We created user personas and stories to guide our design process and had real users test our projects to ensure we were always on the right track.
Overstock.com / Web and Branding Designer
Cottonwood Heights / April 2006 - December 2011
I worked on many types of projects across various parts of the website in my time at Overstock.com. While there, I helped create a strict style guide based on swiss graphic design and the grid system. I also took part in redesigning the website to make it responsive to any screen size.
